Poster research

This is a poster from a similar film to ours Blair witch project. This is a very basic poster as it only has simple imagery and lacks a different array of colours which doesn't help it stand out. However the dark colours and shades used help the poster seem more dramatic and give the sense of  spookiness. Also the poster doesn't say too much of what happens in the film apart from that 3 student film makers disappeared which in effect give many different ideas of what will happen. the title of the poster also stands out against the darker background which is important because it is eye catching some more people will notice the poster. Also the two contrasting colours used with the trees show the theory of strauss and how the contrast of light and dark are the same in this film and an unknown evil is attacking the good.

It is also very strange to have writing on the front of a film poster as often potential viewers will only glance at it so i think it is pointless to use writing and try and create a more dramatic effect just using pictures. There is also a strange symbol in the middle and as it is unknown what it is for, it creates a sense of mysteriousness and tension
